What's DSDT and How To Get or Extract It using DPCI Manager?

Hi guys, welcome back to Ask MHS. At this time we'll discuss about DSDT. Yeah, DSDT.. We often hear about the word, not only in Hackintoshes, but also in Computer Science. So what DSDT is and how to get or extract it? Read the following explanations.

DSDT is the short of Differentiated System Description Table. The tables allow description of system hardware in a platform-independent manner, and are presented as either fixed-formatted data structures or in AML (Application Markup Language).

According to Wikipedia the DSDT is the largest and most important table because this is where the motherboard devices are described. As the DSDT, along with other ACPI tables, is stored in the BIOS only on-board hardware is described. The goal is to bypass this often faulty table because of optimization for Windows by a custom one where the declarations are adjusted to the needs of Mac OS X in order to maximize compatibility.

How to get DSDT using DPCI Manager in Mac OS X?

1. Download latest DPCI Manager here then extract and open the apps

2.  At the left top corner, click on Extract DSDT

3. Now choose the destination folder then click Choose

4. Done!, You have got a DSDT.aml file of your laptop or PC.
